With a birthday trip coming up to one of my favourite places in the world, it seemed the perfect time to recommend some of the best things that you can involve in your next visit to Disneyland Paris. With many classic rides from the original U.S.A theme park, as well as new additions to the studios and a distinctly French theme, this the perfect place to embrace your own ‘Joie de vivre’.

1. It’s A Small World + Alice’s Maze

Start off with something that’ll really get you in the spirit for a day of fun! I usually head for Small World before the lines get too big and also find it especially fun being in Paris, already surrounded by so many beautiful different languages. This was Walt Disney’s favourite ride and the water of the original contained samples from all over the world.

Alice’s maze is another one to head to before the queues grow too long as, considering it is a maze, it isn’t as easy to get lost when it’s crowded – and that’s the best part! Being here for the first time was so surreal and cartoon-esque, just like in the movie. If you’re looking really closely you might even spot the Cheshire Cat (but be careful to avoid the Queen of Hearts!).

2. Where To Eat

There are so many places to choose from for food, but there is one in particular which is really worth your while when it’s reaching dinner time… Pizza Planet! Any Toy Story fan will be over the moon to eat here, with there being an open buffet and a spread of delicious food. Plus, who doesn’t love being in the company of adorable Pixar aliens?

Also, check out Main Street for some yummy snacks. You’ll find everything from traditional American diners to patisseries full of mouth-watering cakes (I can highly recommend the chocolate Mickey doughnuts!). There are also plenty of character-themed treats you can stock up on here for taking home to share with family and friends.Disneyland

3. Pirates Of The Caribbean

Keeping to schedule, I always save Pirates Of The Caribbean for last because it’s an absolute blast! Part log-flume, part roller coaster, you immediately plummet into darkness as though it is the middle of the night. There is a story unfolding as you go along, which acted as somewhat an inspiration for the Depp adaptation, with such genuine special effects you’ll be blown away. Definitely one you should not miss.

4. Meet The Mouse

Speaking to the characters from your childhood favourites can be one of the most amazing things. Characters are dotted across the park to meet, greet and swap pins, and you can bump into them at any time. However, there are also certain locations and times when you can be sure to catch members of the Disney A Crowd.Disneyland

Tip – wear dungarees with your trading pins on the front to make them more visible to other traders.

Mickey Mouse and the princesses can be found by following the signs directed towards them across the park. It can be useful to do a little research beforehand to find out where they might be, especially if you want to find them in a particular costume/occasion wear for photos (e.g. Frontierland Donald, Christmas Minnie). But be sure to greet, if you can, the mouse that started it all! No trip is complete without a few snaps, that’s for certain.
