25 years ago, Spielberg’s massive blockbuster film, Jurassic Park, hit big screens across the planet. Perhaps one of the most iconic scenes in film history is when the team land the helicopter in front of the magnificent waterfall on the Jurassic Park island – now, you can go visit those falls for yourself…

Located in the Hanapepe Valley on the beautiful island of Kauai are the Manawaiopuna Falls; or more commonly known as Jurassic Park Falls. This is the very same waterfall that is featured in the background of the 1993 classic film. However, the fall is located on privately owned land, making it almost impossible to access without the help from a helicopter company. The falls stand at 400-feet, and are virtually untouched by civilisation. If it’s adventure that you’re looking for, hikes through the muddy and wet, rich jungle vegetation are carried out by the Robinson family – you will need to set aside at least 4 to 6 hours for the hike, and be sure to bring plenty of water!

All chopper tours in the area touted this site as one of the greatest features to be seen on the Hawaiian islands. Kauai is a popular tourist island in the Central Pacific; part of the Hawaiian archipelago. It is often referred to as “the Garden Isle” as a result of its extensive tropical rainforest. The island’s dramatic cliffs and Na Pali Coast has served as a fantastic backdrop in many other major Hollywood movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Not to mention its challenging hiking routes along the Sleeping Giant mountain ridge and the 10-mile Waimea Canyon – it’s definitely not an island for the faint-hearted.
