Travel Makes You Richer
I am writing this from the perspective of what I’d consider an average person. I have achieved quite a lot in my life. I am married, have a successful career, own a house, a car – I have these possessions, achievements and successes, but I am not rich, do not own a luxury car, nor do I live what I’d consider a luxury home – my life, it’s what I’d consider average. I can’t complain, but I do know without these “accomplishments”, or for a better word mostly “responsibilities”, I’d be on the road EXPERIENCING! And, this is my point…
Memories Worth Remembering…
If I think back to the memories which are of most prevalence, of course witnessing our child being born and getting married were highlights, but beyond this, my thoughts lean towards memories from far, far away. Be it sat on a boat cruising along the ocean as dolphins majestically swim alongside us. Looking out as far as the eye can see at the magnificent sunset whilst hearing the waves delicately crash against the pier whilst my feet dangle in the warm salty sea. Or, enjoying and eating the variety of different foods without a clue what they are because I simply do not understand the menu. This, is, in my opinion, worth spending money on. And, without worry.
The Problem…
…in my opinion, with society is that we live in a competitive, greedy and crazily hectic bubble. We focus on bills, end of the month wages, worries, and what we “do not have”. By doing this we miss out on life. Let’s leave this negativity behind. One thing is for sure, we aren’t here forever. So why is so much focus given to these “small” things, which become “every day, big worries?”…
I am not suggesting we quit our jobs, become eco-warriors and fight for freedom on planet Earth. But I am trying to express my own thoughts and maybe with that, bring to light some truths which could make us think about what really matters, and enjoy life, more!
Conclusion: Travel Makes You Richer
Traveling is such a wonderful gift. Without responsibilities and commitments, it is more easily achieved. And as I have heard before, “travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”.
